Happy birthday Aunt Lauren!

This morning we played a bit after breakfast then drove up to Nashville. I went to Southeastern Salvage for some flooring. They didn’t have enough, so I might have to drive a ways to get more. We’ll see once I start installing. Next we stopped at CVS for Lauren’s birthday card before heading on to her house. Luke was happy to see her and Wild Dog, and my parents once they arrived. We ate pizza and strawberry cake, socialized, then returned home. Before dinner we played. Now Liz and Luke are doing the bed time routine.

Recovery day.

Luke slept very late this morning, which was welcome. After breakfast we did a couple of projects and a bit of cleaning. I made dinner in the slow cooker and Liz took Luke out this afternoon while I tried to nap. Bed time was a little rough but we got an early start so he wasn’t too late falling asleep.

Eventually productive.

There was a light dusting of snow on the ground this morning. And it was cold. I went to Piggly Wiggly for some cereal then just relaxed around the cottage until nearly eleven. I really didn’t want to go to the job site, but I did. I put down plywood underlayment for about five hours. I nearly finished and have just a little remaining for Monday. After returning to the cottage to pack up I drove home. It was good to see Liz and Luke.

Stormy and lazy.

This morning I took Luke to school then went to therapy. My drive up to the Mountain was nice except for the very strong winds. With the torrential rains in the forecast I decided to forego the job site. Instead I went by the Goat Market and Piggly Wiggly before going to see Debbie for a bit. The thunderstorms did arrive and I spent the evening hunkered down in the cottage.

Finally productive again.

I spent the morning helping out a friend with something, then this afternoon I worked on putting down underlayment for the kitchen and foyer tiles. That went surprisingly well. Later a guy came by to give a quote on a septic system, trenching, and final grade. I think I will use him. After loading up I took my trailer back to the cottage, stopped at the Goat Market for a drink, then drove home via Bell Buckle. Luke was finishing dinner, so we read a little afterwards, then he did his bed time routine.
