Making progress.

This morning I finished installing the plywood underlayment in the bathrooms. My dad came later and we finished the fascia and he caulked the bathroom vanities after I secured the tops. He also caulked the kitchen counters and some window trim. After he left I built and installed the kitchen shelves. I also cleaned and organized the house and prepared everything for tomorrow. I dropped some stuff off at the storage unit then returned to the cottage and used the last bit of daylight to clean out my car. I went to Piggly Wiggly for some food, and have just been relaxing at the cottage since, mostly looking for a truck on my phone.

Productive morning, distracted afternoon.

I got to the house around eight this morning, unloaded the last vanity, went to the storage unit for some tools, then returned and got to work. I installed all three vanities, countertops, and sinks pretty quickly. They look good in my opinion. Not long after finishing that a neighbor came by and we chatted for a while. This afternoon I took cardboard to the dump, went to the lumberyard and storage unit, and cleaned up the back porch a bit. I also started to cut the underlayment for the bathroom flooring. I stopped work around dark, then drove down to Home Depot in Manchester for a few things. On my way back I stopped in Pelham for some dinner. Hopefully the rest of the evening will be relaxing.

Mostly homebound.

This morning I went to Kroger first thing. The experience wasn’t as bad as expected, but it was still nice to be finished. Luke and I played a lot this morning, and created a “wrecking ball” for his crane out of materials that Liz acquired at Hobby Lobby yesterday. This afternoon we played some more and Luke and Liz made pumpkin bread. This evening Luke was a little wild, but we got the house cleaned up and him bathed. Liz is with him now starting the bed time routine. Soon I will head to the Mountain for what will hopefully be a very productive three days.

Wet, but still active.

This morning we went for a walk at the battlefield in Spring Hill, then to Home Depot for a few things, next to the Factory in Columbia, and finally to the farmers market just before everybody packed up for the day. This afternoon Luke and I did a lot of playing. This evening he was really tired and went to bed early.

Pretty much all day in the car.

This morning I left the cottage at 6:15 and drove to Dixie Salvage in Fort Payne, Alabama to pick up my vanities. The plan was to get them, then install them. Unfortunately only two of the three would fit. So I told them I would return on Monday for the third. After dropping those two off at the job site and getting some free breakfast at the lumberyard, I decided to return for the third one, then drive home. So I did. It was a tiring day, but it was nice to see Luke and Liz. We played with Legos until dinner. He was a bit wild at bath time, but calmed down eventually and went to bed without fuss.
