Wet and kind of boring Saturday.
Nobody slept well last night and we were all dragging this morning. Eventually we made it to the farmers market, took our bounty home, then ventured to Kroger for a rather miserable shopping experience. I took a little nap afterwards then hauled trash to the dump. We did a video chat with my parents this afternoon and spent a bit of time reading and building Lego towers. Liz made lasagna for dinner and apple crisp for dessert. Luke was very tired and fell asleep quickly.
Working, but not fast enough.
I arrived at the job site around eight this morning. I worked on the v-groove until about 3:30, stopping only to talk with a guy who came by to chat for a few minutes. I didn’t get as much done as I would have liked though. I drove home via Tullahoma and Luke was waiting for me. We had dinner after reading for a bit. Hopefully I will go to bed early tonight.
Busy and productive.
This morning Luke dressed up like a landscaper for his Halloween party at school. He was pretty excited. I left the house at the same time he did and drove to Lowe’s in Tullahoma for a few things. My next stop was Home Depot in Winchester followed by Food City. I unloaded at the cottage then went to the job site. I worked until after dark installing boards on the walls.
Passing inspection and covering walls.
I arrived at the job site at seven this morning, unloaded the tools, and got all set up to work. Then I waited for the inspector. He arrived just before nine and gave me the thumbs up. I started work on the walls but needed a rubber mallet, so I went to the lumberyard. They didn’t have any for sale but did loan me one from the paint department. back at the house I worked until about 2:15 and made decent progress. I stopped by the Goat Market and ordered a pizza, went to the cottage to pack up, returned to the Goat Market and ate some of the pizza, then hit the road. I stopped at Home Depot in Manchester to buy some nails, then drove on home. Luke and Liz were playing outside when I arrived, but then we came in and built a Lego tower before dinner. After dinner we cleaned up and Luke took a bath, then I showered. I was just starting to relax when Liz said that she needed a color inkjet printer to print an iron-on think for Luke’s Halloween costume that he will wear to school tomorrow. So I drove up to Target in Spring Hill and got one. Now she is messing with it and I am not sure when I will be able to go to bed.
