Luke had an elevated temperature and lots of snot this morning, and Liz’s cough has still not gone away. So we took it easy and early this afternoon she went to an urgent care center for a chest x-ray. They said she has some sort of bronchial junk and gave her a prescription. This evening I did bed time with Luke and that took about an hour.
Painting.
It was a long and intense day, but I survived. This morning I loaded up all of my materials and equipment and headed to the job site. After unloading I needed to get some plexiglass, which I found at the lumberyard after failing at Ace Hardware. It took a bit of time to get everything set up and the sprayer running, but once everything started going I was off to the races. The first house went well despite taking a while. The second went okay until about half way through at which point I was drained. From that point it took another three hours until I was finished. I sort of picked up the job site then went to CVS for about a gallon of drinks. Back at the cottage I showered and relaxed a little bit before driving home. It is about 10:45 now and everybody is asleep.
Headed closer towards painting.
I got to the job site about 6:30 this morning and the electricians arrived soon after. It was nice and cool and I wore a fleece jacket. Once I got them all set up I returned to taping off for painting. That is what I did all day, with a trip to the lumberyard and another to the cottage for a late lunch. I finished about seven this evening. I didn’t get everything masked off that I wanted, but I think it will be enough. Tomorrow will be a big day. When I returned to the cottage I saw that Debbie was still next door, so I went and chatted with her for a bit on the front patio. Now I am on the computer and need to start something for dinner.
Headed towards painting.
This morning I said goodbye to everybody and drove to the supply store in Winchester. They did not have the panel I needed, so I continued to the Mountain. At the job site I started taping off for painting. That was slow and tedious but I made good progress. After finishing about 6:30 I drove to Lowe’s in McMinnville to get paint and electrical panels. I got home about 9:45 and hope to go to bed soon. The electricians are coming in the morning.
Finally a day without rain.
I didn’t get up as early as planned this morning but still made it to the job site well before eight. Once there I installed cleats to nail the ceiling wood to. That took a while. Next I screwed down the boards on the front porch of the first house. I finished the front porch and did a little on the back before it was time to pack up. After lunch and a shower at the cottage I went to the lumberyard to inquire about paint and then picked up a couple cans of water at the Goat Market. I didn’t see Eric. I drove home via Bell Buckle. Luke was waiting for me and we did a video chat with my parents before dinner. He was pretty amped up for bath and bed time, probably because our visitors are still here. It is now nine and Liz is still in his room.
