Foul weather, foul mood.

I got to the job site a few minutes before seven this morning. The electricians were already there and we chatted a little before I went to my storage units to organize them a bit. Next I went to the dump, bank, and post office. It was still raining so I drove down to Manchester where I went to Wal-Mart and Home Depot. Back on the Mountain I stopped at the lumberyard before returning to the cottage. There I did some work on the computer and relaxed a while before going to the job site for a couple of hours. The rain slacked off a little so I prepared the porches for their ceilings and did a little cleaning up. I also chatted with the electrician a bit. This evening I just hung around the cottage. I did cut my hair with my clippers and go to Piggly Wiggly, but that was about it. I’ll try to get to bed early tonight.

Rain strikes again.

It was raining hard this morning so we waited a little bit after breakfast before venturing out. We headed to Spring Hill and visited Target, PetSmart, Homegoods, Ross, and finally Kroger. That was all kind of tiring, although it was good to get a belt and socks. Back at the house Luke and I worked on a Lego tower until lunch time. He did not nap, and Liz did not want to do a car nap, out of hopes that he would go to bed early tonight. So we just hung out all afternoon. I was able to leave the house a few minutes after five, which was nice, since I didn’t want to be driving in both the rain and the dark. I have been working on designs for the next houses since arriving at the cottage. I hope to go to bed early and wake up early. My cough and sore throat are nearly gone.

Rain returns.

We woke up and read this morning before Liz and Luke made breakfast cookies. We waited a bit to go to the farmers market due to the rain, but once we were there it was great to see and talk with everybody. Back at the house I had a nap but nobody else did. We were pretty much homebound all afternoon and it was quite boring. We had dinner and I did bed time, so that Liz could have a little break. He went to bed really early and quickly due to not having a bath.

Rails.

I slept well last night and got to the job site just before seven. One of the electricians was there and we chatted for a bit. I finished the skirting on the blue house then headed down to Winchester to pick up goat panels to use on the porch railings. That went well and back at the houses I got busy installing them. It actually went better than expected, thanks in large part to my air powered stapler. After finishing I cleaned up the site a bit, then went to the cottage for a shower and to gather my belongings. I got some dinner in Pelham then drove the rest of the way home via Bell Buckle. I surprised Liz and Luke as they weren’t expecting me until tomorrow evening. Now Liz is putting Luke to bed.

Another Luke and Daddy day.

After a miserable night of coughing, mostly spent on the sofa so as not to disturb Liz, it was nice to see Luke this morning. We read several books while it was still dark outside. After breakfast we went to Port Royal for a couple of hours, Luke was pretty active and was excited to see Ridley there. Next we went to Kroger to get a number of things. That was pretty unpleasant. We had lunch at home then tried for a long time to nap. At about 2:15 we got in the car and drove for an hour and a quarter or so, most of the time he slept. Back home we played until Liz got off work. They went outside together and I worked on setting up my new phone. We had dinner and cleaned up, and now Liz and Luke are doing bath time. I hope to leave for the Mountain before too long.
