Work, errands, rain, drive.

This morning I got to the lumberyard when they opened and clarified a few things on my bill. Next I went to the job site and really got everything consolidated and organized. That will hopefully make work more efficient next week. I also cut and painted trim for around the porches. My last task was to load up the excess roofing supplies and take them to the storage unit. Back at the cottage I did a bit of cleaning and laundry. I went to the Goat Market for a little bit before driving home via Lynchburg. It was good to see Liz and Luke, and we played with Legos until dinner time. I did the bed time routine and now Luke is kind of trying to sleep.

Kind of a lazy day, not feeling great.

This morning I went with Liz and Luke to High Hopes. I drove them and sat in the car while Luke had therapy. Back home I loaded up and hit the road, driving through Lewisburg and Fayetteville. I got to the cottage and tried to take a little nap. That just made me feel kind of crummy. I went to the storage units to organize them and my car a bit. I drove by the job site and then went to the library for internet and to buy some books at their sale. I decided to visit the Goat Market since it didn’t look too crowded. I chatted with Eric a little and did some work on my computer. Back at the cottage I (finally) started messing with my receipts. I went to Dollar Tree for some envelopes and Piggly Wiggly for some food before returning to the cottage and continuing with paperwork for the rest of the evening. The good news is that I’m not as far over budget as I had feared. I talked on the phone with Liz this evening and she said that Luke had been wild at bed time.

Short day of siding.

Well, last night has horrible. After talking on the phone with Liz I started cramping up big time. I drank a bunch of water which eventually helped, but then I had to get up and pee all through the night. I woke up this morning feeling pretty tired, but we still got an early start. After dropping off my dad and the tools at the job site I went to the lumberyard for some trim and then returned and we got to work. Our objective was siding on the back wall. Despite it being very muddy and slippery we made good progress and finished in about 3.5 hours. My dad had to go home for a Bastille Day party, so I packed up, and got hammered by rain at the end. After taking the tools to the storage unit I showered and went to the post office and electric co-op before stopping at the Goat Market. I chatted with Eric for a bit then drove home. It was great to see Liz and Luke and we played until dinner time. We had a nice dinner and then cleaned up a lot before bath. I read Luke a book, prayed with him, then sang songs for the bed time routine. He is in bed now but probably not asleep.

Long day of siding.

We got to the job site a couple of minutes after seven this morning. We left about 7:20 this evening. In between we put up a ton of siding, got poured on, and I made one quick trip to the cottage for a gas can. It was a rewarding day but now I’m exhausted. My new tool harness was a huge help, as were the new ladders. We went to Piggly Wiggly on the way back to the cottage and ate more rice and beans after showering. I am already really sore and am dreading the morning.

Back on the Mountain, not quite back to work.

Luke was up early and ready to build this morning. We played with Legos until breakfast, then I loaded my car and headed on. I drove to Monteagle without stopping. In town I went to the lumberyard, bank, dump, and Piggly Wiggly. I also did a little computer work and tried to nap. I made beans in the slow cooker, as befits my desire to start eating healthy again. This evening I met with a plumber/electrician and he is going to get me a quote. I had the beans along with some rice for dinner, and they were delicious. My dad arrived a little later and we have been talking some. I have also been working on my budgets for the houses.
