It’s still warm but the rain has rolled in. John and I watched Luke this morning and worked on repairing a shooting shed this afternoon. Tomorrow it’s supposed to get cold.
Working hard in Michigan.
There was a beautiful sunrise to start the morning, although I only took pictures from the bedroom window. After breakfast John and I hauled hay to the auction and bought gravel in town. With Luke’s help we spread the gravel on a garden path. After lunch we took more hay to the auction, then watched it get sold. The auction was a real American experience. Fortunately the weather was lovely again today. Later this afternoon we started to repair a shooting shed that someone else had done a poor job of building. Dinner was delicious and hopefully I will go to sleep soon.
Extending our stay in Michigan.
We decided to stay another week with Liz’s parents instead of returning home today. This will allow us to help them prepare the farm for winter. The weather has been glorious here and should be for a couple more days. Luke is having fun and I am enjoying being done with the house. I do look forward to going home though. This morning we went for a hike at a lake a little north of the farm. This afternoon Luke’s third cousins Hannah and Kate came over to play outside with him. In between he ate a lot and napped.
Enjoying Michigan.
I did not sleep much last night and woke up well before dawn. Luke also got an early start. After breakfast we went out and worked on repairing doors on the equipment shed. That took most of the morning. After lunch Luke and I napped and then did a little more work outside. As the pictures indicate we also had a little fire and the sunset was lovely.
