A pretty nice Tuesday.

I actually fell asleep rather quickly last night and slept very well. Luke slept through the night too. Liz sort of has today and the next couple of days off, so that freed me up a bit. Liz and Luke made breakfast cookies, so that is how we started the day. Next I worked on cleaning out the garage some, then started building a gate for the back deck. It took a trip to Home Depot to get all of the supplies I needed, but finished before lunch. Luke went down for his nap fairly easily, and I took trash to the dump while he slept. After that I had a survey call with Google, and received a $75 gift card for my trouble. We were thinking to go to the nature park but it kind of started to rain, plus Luke wanted to keep playing outside at our house. So I hung a towel holder in his bathroom and prepared dinner. Liz is going over the “story of his day” with him now, and I might be the one putting him to bed. After he goes down I will go to Kroger.

Little Banksy strikes again.

This morning I took Luke to speech therapy, and Miss Sara was pleased with how he did. From there we drove up to Brentwood and met my parents at the playground next to the library. He enjoyed playing with them. He slept most of the drive home, which led to no nap. He was in a pretty good mood this afternoon and we all went to the nature park for a nice walk. We saw deer, a little snake, and lots of butterflies. Bed time was a little rough this evening. I am doing an experiment based on a conversation this morning, and committing to not looking at a phone screen after eight o’clock in order to see if that helps me fall asleep.

The “Terrible Twos” seem to have arrived.

I woke up and went to the house this morning, and spent a bit more time organizing and hauling trash to the storage unit, since the dump is closed on Sundays. At nine a guy, his dad (I think), and his realtor came to see the house. They stayed for nearly and hour and a half. I would say it went well. They will be in touch. I left the house and started driving home, which unfortunately didn’t go as planned. Interstate 24 was shut down (due to a carjacking/murder as I would later find out), and all traffic was routed to the exit where I was getting off. So that added about 45 minutes to the trip. Then in Wartrace the was an issue as well that held me up for a few minutes. The rain started around Shelbyville but wasn’t as bad as expected.

I arrived home as Luke was sort of falling asleep for his nap. Unfortunately he woke up about 40 minutes later in a horrible mood, which lasted a while. Once the rain stopped we went to the nature park for a nice walk. It was overcast and cool. Dinner went pretty well, as did bath time. Liz asked me to put him to bed, and that actually went great. I have just been lounging around this evening. Will try to go to bed early.

The frustration compounds.

This morning we took Luke to the playground at Iron Bridge Road and then went to the Farmer’s Market for bread and watermelon. After hanging out a bit at home I hit the road to the Mountain. The drive was uneventful and I first went to the house to see what work had been done. Well, unfortunately the wrong work had been done! Instead of installing the exterior lights I had purchased, he went and bought different lights and installed them. I have no idea why. I hope to learn on Monday. I cleaned up a lot of his trash and hauled it to the dump. Next I went to see Debbie and Charles and gave them a few lamps and an old window. They are redecorating the store. I left there to shower and visit the Goat Market, where I chatted with Eric for a while. Then I went back to Debbie’s and chatted a while longer and helped her label a bunch of candles that she made today. It was raining out when I left and so I just came back to the cottage and messed around on my phone. Now I’m trying to decide if I want to go out for some food.
