More playing and such this morning. About 10:45 Luke and I drove up to Franklin for his occupational therapy. I really don’t think he needs it, but he enjoys it and the state is paying for it, so no big deal. His therapist is very nice and encouraging. He fell asleep on the drive home, which unfortunately led to no afternoon nap. Also unfortunate was the fact that Liz had to work late, so no walk at the nature park. Dinner, bath, and bedtime all came earlier than usual for Luke. He was in a good mood all evening. I started weedeating our front yard but the battery ran out. Now it is recharging and I will go to Dollar General in the meantime.
Feels like we’re moving forward.
Luke and I played with Legos a bit this morning and read. I got a call from a lady asking about the house, and she was there in Monteagle and wanted to see it. Fortunately my parents were on the Mountain and my dad was able to drive over to meet her. They key had been kind of misplaced by the plumber, but my dad found it and gave her a tour. Obviously that was a huge help. She seemed pretty interested. My dad also got a hold of the surveyor who said that he will get going on subdividing the new property. After lunch and nap Luke and I played some more. It really rained hard this afternoon, but stopped just before Liz got off work, so we went to the nature park. The rain had cooled things down nicely, and we saw three deer and lots of butterflies. Luke really enjoys searching for red leaves, and we found quite a few. After dinner Liz interviewed a potential nanny and spoke with the references of another, so I put Luke to bed. He was very tired and fell asleep quickly.
Recovery day for some.
Liz didn’t work today so that she could rest up from what has been ailing her. She felt better than she did over the weekend but wanted to try and get completely well. She napped for most of the morning while Luke and I played and he did speech therapy remotely. I read during his nap and after he woke up we all went to the nature park. I thought the fresh air would do Liz some good. It seemed to, despite being a bit warmer than I had expected. After dinner and bath I put Luke to bed then went to Kroger for a few things. I hope to go to bed kind of early tonight.
More Mountain then back home.
I did stay up late reading last night, but still woke up pretty early. I didn’t get out of bed until around eight though. I did a little bit of an Insanity workout then ate breakfast before going to the house. There I unloaded the gravel from the trailer and put it around the bushes in the raised beds. It looks pretty good I would say. That task took a couple of hours. I will need to go get another load in order to finish. I came back to the cottage for lunch, more reading, and laundry. After the clothes dried I drove home, stopping at Dollar General to get some medicine for Liz and Luke. They are both a bit under the weather. I arrived just in time for dinner and so we ate together. I bathed Luke and put him to bed. I will try to finish my book this evening but still have about 400 pages so probably won’t.
Split Saturday.
We went to the farmer’s market and playground this morning while it was still quite cool. Luke loved going down the slides. He also loved that we bought a watermelon and bread. About eleven I drove up to Monteagle, stopping for a bit in Chapel Hill to speak with my cedar suppliers. They said that the prices of lumber were going to keep going up. In Monteagle I checked on the house, visited with Debbie and gave her a flyer to display advertising the house, and had an early dinner at the Mountain Goat Market. Eric wasn’t there but I talked with Trevor for a while. After that I returned to the cottage. I thought about going to photograph sunset but was too caught up in the book I’m currently reading. I’ll probably stay up pretty late reading it.
