Wet, unproductive day.

This morning we left the house about 9:30 to go to Luke’s doctor appointment up in Cool Springs. It rained the whole way. I stayed in the car while they went inside. I napped while Luke napped this afternoon, then we played some more until Liz got off work. I went to the she shed, then Liz and Luke came to inspect. During dinner the fire alarm went off and it took a few minutes to reset. During Luke’s bath it went off again, and took about 45 minutes to get turned off. It was super frustrating. I need to find more permanent solution, as I just unplugged two modules. I did go back to the she shed after that and was able to get a little more work done before dark.

Fun with Luke and Myself.

Apparently there were more storms last night. As Luke and I drove to the park this morning I saw new fallen down trees. We had a nice time at the park. He really enjoyed throwing rocks and sticks into the creek. He had speech therapy (remote) after that, and I drove into town to pick up some bread. This afternoon and evening I worked on the she shed. The weather was lovely and I got a lot done.

Broken trees, more work, more rain.

Luke and I went up to the park in Spring Hill this morning. We saw a bunch of trees down on the drive, and there were two big ones down at the park – one in front of the bathroom, another along the path. I was able to do some work on the shed while he napped, and also saw that some trees were down just behind the shed. Had they fallen in the opposite direction it would have been disastrous! Luke napped for over three hours, and after Liz finished work I was able to work for another hour before the rain started. Now it is pouring, but at least there doesn’t seem to be strong winds.

Shed and Storms.

We went to the forest again this morning for hiking and a snack. After returning we did a video chat with my parents. I was planning on starting work on the shed while Luke napped, but I took a nap myself. I got up and started enclosing the shed. That was going extremely well until a storm rolled in. I started with extremely strong winds that were breaking branches. I was pretty surprised that the shed stayed standing. I ran back to the house and took Liz and Luke to the master closet. Fortunately Luke had some toys in there and we were able to pass the time. It rained pretty hard for a little while, then calmed down and was pretty out. So a rather dramatic way to end the weekend.

Park and She Shed.

We went to the nature park this morning and had a lovely time. It was warm and sunny and we saw lots of birds. We took a snack for Luke, so we weren’t at all rushed. I worked on the she shed from nap onward, and was pretty much able to finish up the framing.
