Quarantine day 42668.
Today was busy and chilly. Liz and Luke started us off with some breakfast cookies this morning. Luke had remote speech therapy at 10:15. He didn’t get a lot out of it, but that’s okay as our expectations are pretty low until he can start going in person. We built lots of Legos, read a little, and rode on his new horse Duke, a birthday gift from my parents. During Luke’s nap I went next door with the tractor and helped Jerry smooth out his driveway in preparation for his getting gravel delivered. After Liz got off work I drove up to Monteagle and picked up ladders and scaffolding, got pizza at the Goat Market, and picked up a few things at the cottage. I couldn’t pull up to the house for the ladders because the end of the driveway was all rutted out. Eric told me that they had 6.5 inches of rain on Sunday afternoon. I had planned to buy a bunch of things at Piggly Wiggly, but they closed at 7:30 and I arrived at 7:45. It was nice to be out of the house, but I didn’t get home until nearly eleven.
Happy Easter!
The heavy rain kept us indoors all day, but we still managed to have a lot of fun. Luke and I built a Lego church this morning. He also baked muffins with Liz. We FaceTimed with Liz’s parents and later with mine. After nap he went on a little Easter egg hunt around the house. Inside the plastic eggs we put little rocks that we had collected in Michigan a few years ago. He had a blast.
More of the same.
Luke woke up pretty early and so the playing began. After morning snack we went to a park in Spring Hill that we hadn’t been to before. It was actually a Civil War battlefield with some walking paths mowed in the tall grass. We climbed a hill with nice views of the area. The weather was lovely and Luke had a nice time. Unfortunately he didn’t really nap this afternoon. I spent much of the evening organizing my office and several boxes of stuff. Throwing a lot out, as my life is too cluttered.
