Errands everywhere.

After breakfast I went to the house and did a little caulking. It was really cold. From there I went to the bank, then to the Goat Market, then down to the lumberyard in Winchester. After that I bought cabinets in Shelbyville and lumber in Chapel Hill. In Columbia I ordered interior doors and laminate flooring. I arrived home just before dinner time and was able to play with Luke for a few minutes before we ate.

Rock!

well, we didn’t finish the painting today as hoped, but did get in some rock for the driveway, and passed electrical inspection. So that is progress. I also put up the last slat for the porch railing and prepared the access openings for cover panels. The weather was pretty nice and Kent did a bit more painting. The plumbers started working and I called a couple of insulation guys to get quotes.

Grocery store and more with Luke.

This morning Luke and I went to the grocery store and had a lot of fun. He really enjoyed helping put things in the cart. Back at the house we played a lot with his blocks, read, and while he was napping I cooked a white bean chili in the slow cooker. After Luke went to bed I drove up to the Mountain. It was very stormy so the trip took over two hours.

Fun day with Luke.

Well Luke and I hung out today while Liz worked. We started off reading, then played with blocks, before breaking out some homemade play dough that he and Liz made yesterday. He also helped me unload the dishwasher. His nap wasn’t great – about an hour and a quarter, but he woke up in a good mood. After Liz finished work we went on a walk at the nature park. That was very nice. Dinner was the a lentil dish from the slow cooker, the second meal I prepared in the slow cooker today. It was good. Luke was a bit lively at bedtime but went to sleep without fussing.

Nice weather, good progress, unexpected return home.

I got up to the Mountain pretty late last night and went to the job site around eight this morning. I started off by installing the last bit of railing on the porch. All but one board of it anyways, as I came up just short. Then I put some 5/4 board around the base of the deck. I need to go get about three more boards though. The electricians came and got really close to finishing. They say they will get inspected on Thursday. The HVAC guy came and did his rough-in. Kent and Jacob came and did a bit more painting. Hopefully they will finish up later this week. I went back to the cottage after work, but packed up and drove home because Liz needs me to look after Luke for tomorrow at least, maybe longer. It’s a bit frustrating as I have so much work to do up here. I took the highway to Manchester then got on the interstate. Luke is sleeping now but it will be nice to see him in the morning.
