Siding finished!

There were about three inches of snow on the ground this morning and it was pretty chilly. Despite this I headed to the job site. I spent a lot of time cleaning up, and hauled off trash as well as a big stack of 2x4s. Jacob and Kent came this afternoon and we got the last of the siding up. That felt great! Kent also got a lot of caulking done. After packing and taking a couple of pictures of the full moon up I drove home. Unfortunately Luke was asleep by the time I arrived, but I will get to see him in the morning.

Georgia on my mind.

I hopped in the car at 4:30 this morning and headed South. The objective was to pick up a military trailer that I had purchased online. It was dark and rainy, so the going was slow. Around 6:30 I stopped and slept for an hour and a half or so. I made pretty good time down to Albany and the pick up was easy. The drive back was slow but uneventful. I stopped at the Lowe’s in Kimball for some drain pipe, then came up the Mountain via Jasper. By Tracy City there was a lot of snow on the ground, but the roads were fine.

Errands and siding.

This morning I drove down to Tullahoma and Winchester. I stopped for trailer lights at Harbor Freight, lug nuts at O’Reilly, and caulk at Home Depot. I got everything set up at the house, but Jacob didn’t come. Kent came though, and we finished the siding on the back of the house. Below are a couple of pictures of our progress, as well as pictures of one of my military trailers that I’ve adapted to haul tools and the generator. It has been a big help.

More projects, more fun.

Another early morning, compliments of Little Man. I hung an ironing board rack that Liz bought yesterday and we spray painted the legs for a shelf she is making. We also hung three Hatch Show prints in her office. Luke was in a pretty good mood. Now we are trying to find an alternative to our crappy AT&T internet. It looks like Spectrum is the only option. We also want to sign up for YouTube TV. The weather was nice all weekend, and should be decent this coming week. I’m headed back to the Mountain after Luke goes to bed.

Scrape, errands, projects, grandparents.

Our day started early this morning when Luke woke up and started raising a ruckus. His morning got worse when he fell and scraped his cheek. No real morning nap because he fell asleep while nursing. I went to the dump and Kroger while he and Liz ate lunch. Then we worked on a few little things around the house. My parents came down just after Luke went down for his afternoon nap. They brought some of my stuff they had been storing and in return took some stuff of theirs from here. Liz went to Lowe’s for some stuff and we just chilled until Luke woke up. I also forgot to add that I cooked two meals in the slow cooker – a lentil dish and chili. Both were pretty good in my opinion.
