This morning I picked up an enclosed U-Haul trailer then headed to North Nashville. I met my dad at his storage unit where we proceeded to load up a bunch of my stuff. Some of it is very good to have again, and there was also a lot of junk, maybe old cabinets that he broke down in order to haul them off. I drove to the farm to drop some stuff off in the garage and put the rest on the burn pile. I loaded up some trash and cardboard then headed back up to the mountain. I just made it to the dump in time to drop it all off. Then I went by the house to check on my helper and his son who were just finishing up for the day. They had done everything that I had asked them to.
In your fascia.
I started staining this morning, then when my helper and his son arrived we installed fascia. It is cedar 1×8, and I feel like it looks pretty fantastic. After dark I set up lights and started putting trim around the windows.
Work and errands.
I left the farm this morning and stopped by Lowe’s in Tullahoma to pick up paint. Then I got to work at the house. Mostly staining the cedar trim. My helper Kenneth came and worked through the afternoon. After dark I had to run down to the Manchester Home Depot for another five gallons of stain.
Church, park, chill.
Well we made it to church for the second week in a row. Luke did very well again/ This evening we went to the playground in Spring Hill. The sunset was lovely.
Five years.
That’s how long we’ve been married, as of today. It was a pretty normal day for the most part. Relaxing morning, Liz and my mother went clothes shopping for Luke this afternoon in Cool springs, then my parents came and babysat Luke while we went out to dinner. Southern Tre steakhouse in downtown Columbia. More on it at a later date. Short version – not impressed. We did have a nice walk around downtown while we waited on our table though.
