We started the morning with a walk in the new park. It was a little chilly out and felt great. Luke seemed to have a good time. I spent the day working on little projects around the house. Finished up the Luke barrier on the front porch, built a box for the end of the kitchen counter, and started on the master closet shelving. Hopefully I can finish it tomorrow.
Working and waiting.
Liz’s calf was hurting this morning, so we didn’t go for a walk. I ran some errands after breakfast and returned to work on some shelving for the master closet and a barrier for the front porch steps. The latter is to keep Luke contained. Still no word from the excavator on a start date.
What about BOB?
Well, we now have an amazing new park just eight minutes away with several miles of gravel hiking trails. It is a lovely place that is very tranquil. Unfortunately the stroller that has served us very well for the past 16 months or so just wasn’t up to the challenge of an unpaved path. So we ordered a BOB stroller off Amazon, and boy is it amazing. It rides like a Lexus! I think Luke also likes the fact that he faces forward and can really see what is going on.
This morning we returned to the park with the new stroller and had a great walk. It was very humid, but most of our time was in the shade. We came back again after work for another nice outing. This time it was hotter and less shaded, but still very nice. We have only had the opportunity to complete the short loop, but will try for the longer loop soon, maybe even tomorrow.
Long, hot day on the road.
I left the house this morning and drove to the cottage. There I got my flatbed trailer and took off for Fort Payne, Alabama to pick up my French doors and windows. That went smoothly enough, and I also picked up a couple of nice toilet seats. I decided to drive straight home with my cargo instead of returning to the mountain. It will be better to park the trailer at the farm from a security standpoint, since it will be some weeks before I am ready for the windows and doors.
It was nice to make it home in time for dinner with Liz and Luke. We played for a bit, then had bath time, which he still enjoys, though seemingly not as much as before.
