Early moon, progress, chickening out.

Well I drove up to the Mountain last night after Liz went to bed. This morning I got up at the crack and went to the the moon set at Day Lake. It felt great to be out, but unfortunately the moon set while it was still fairly dark, so my pictures didn’t come out great. I’ll try again tomorrow. I returned to the cottage and slept for a while before venturing back out. I was able to make some solid progress on preparing for my next project, but had a bit of a setback as well.

This evening I drove to Snooper’s Rock. The goal was to see the full moon rise, but it was clouding up and the gates supposedly closed at sunset, and so I didn’t want to get caught inside. It was still a nice little excursion. I stopped at the Ingle’s in Jasper on the way back to Monteagle. It might become my new shopping spot. Great selection and prices.

A long, busy, and fun day.

Some of Liz’s friends came to visit today- -a total of three adults and four young girls. So we spent the morning cleaning and organizing the house in preparation. It felt good to get things in order. Our guests arrived mid-afternoon and we had a great time. The girls loved playing with Luke and exploring the back field. We all ate watermelon and then chili for dinner. After they left we bathed Luke, put him to bed, and are now just relaxing.

Catching up around the house.

No pictures, but I promise it all happened. I got an early start this morning and drove up to my parents’ house in Nashville. Thankfully there wasn’t much traffic. We unloaded some furniture there and hauled some to my sister’s house as well. Then I returned home and got to work. First I regraded the driveway, which had become horribly rutted with the recent heavy rains. Inside we hung mirrors and curtains, cleaned, and of course played with Luke. He had a good day.
