Mowing on the mountain.

The day started off with an update from Google Photos showing “then and now” pictures of Luke. Unfortunately it didn’t give dates, but was still cool to see. Next we went on a greenway walk. That is really a nice way to begin the day. We will try to walk every morning that it isn’t raining. After putting dinner in the slow cooker I headed up to the Mountain. I went a little different way than usual – down Interstate 65 to Highway 64 through Fayetteville. The drive was lovely and I loved having the windows down.

The cottage looked great with the rhododendrons in bloom, but the grass needed cutting, so I cut it. That was one reason I came. Another reason was to get the Sequoia running. Unfortunately I failed on that front. I did get the tires inflated, but the battery seemed dead as a door nail, and wouldn’t respond to either my jumper cables or battery box. Since there is no auto parts store in Monteagle, I’ll have to get a new battery in Columbia. I went next door and talked with Debbie for a while. Her candles were looking good.

I drove around campus and saw the goats, although they were on the far side of the pasture. I thought about hanging around for sunset, but instead decided to return home before Luke went to bed. Part of my route was new to me, which was nice. I will return next week to have another crack at the Sequoia.

Walk – Rain – Walk.

We are really enjoying our morning walks. It was a little chilly this morning, but still felt good to be out. Then the rain came. I ran a bunch of errands for most of the day. I did make lunch in the slow cooker though. We went on an evening walk and I took the pictures of the property, showing how it is getting cleaned up. Luke ate and slept well today.

Another chilly morning, Nashville, back slow cooking.

This morning was a little nippy so we didn’t take a walk. I drove up to my parents’ place in Nashville to cut their grass, and then stopped at Lowe’s in Cool Springs and Kroger in Spring Hill on the way back. I worked outside, prepared dinner, worked outside some more, ran errands in town, worked outside even more, then we went on a greenway walk, had dinner, then mowed the back field.

Chilly and misty Sunday.

Another morning walk and an unexpected car nap. So we drove up to Home Depot in Spring Hill where Liz picked up a paint sample. Leftovers for lunch then I prepared a slow cooker Indian dish for dinner. Everybody napped this afternoon. The evening walk was at a new location – Jerry Irwin Park up in Spring Hill. It was a nice place, basically a loop around a big field. Dinner was delicious.
