Sunny day, not sweeping cares away.

I did some light work this morning. A little spackling and window scraping. My friend Tim came by to check things out. I left for the mountain about noon, taking backroads. It is a little cooler up here, but still nice. I saw the goats and visited with Debbie at the pottery shop next door. I feel a little bad about coming up here when the house isn’t finished, but I do need a shower. It will be nice to have a day’s break too. Not sure what I will do though. Missed sunset because of my socializing, but that’s okay. Might try to read some.

Grate, not great day.

Finally got a hold of the electrician who said he will come finish on Monday. Got vent covers from the HVAC guy. Most will need a bit of work to get in place. Spackled a bit, which was really tedious. Resisted the urge to go to the mountain this afternoon. Will go tomorrow.

Back on track!

Well, it was a pretty good day. My dad came down and we got a lot done. He focused on finishing up everything that needed to be done in the bathrooms. This included some trim and transitions between tile and laminate flooring. That has really made a huge difference in how they look. I finished hanging drywall in the garage. Tomorrow I will tape and mud it. It is supposed to be very cold tonight and tomorrow so maybe I’ll just do inside work.

Back on track?

I put in what was probably my best day’s work in a while. I felt motivated and really got a lot done. That work happened in the garage, where I put sheetrock on the 14 foot ceiling. I had to rig up a special contraption using scaffolding and my lift. It was pretty awkward but I got a bit done. More than in the picture and will hopefully finish up tomorrow. It was rainy and nasty today and is about to get cold for a few days.
