The rain today has been nothing short of Biblical, definitely the most intense I’ve seen since we bought the property, and that is really saying something. I spent most of the day continuing to organize things in the house and preparing to haul a lot to the dump. I bought some more plastic storage boxes at Home Depot to help stay tidy. I went by Big Box but they were closed. Probably will be asleep long before midnight.
Trying to transition from lazy to productive.
I kind of slept through most of the morning. Or at least stayed in bed. I had a leisurely lunch with my parents and sister, then headed down to the farm. The plumber/electrician had thankfully done some work in my absence. I worked around the house until dark, trying to organize things both inside and out. It’s fairly tough to get motivated. Now I’m about to watch the latest Mission Impossible movie.
Another moving day.
I helped my parents move again today. We rented a van and moved most of the big stuff and a lot of smaller things. Still a lot to go, but I’ll head back to Columbia tomorrow morning. I need to get our house finished. Below are a couple of pictures of Luke that Liz sent.
No Liz or Little Man.
Well, Liz is a little sick and the doctor told her to rest, so they are not coming down today. I think they will probably stay up there until the house is finished. This morning I worked on putting some flooring down in my dad’s new house before we moved a bit of stuff in the afternoon. Dinner was a tasty calzone. Tomorrow we’ll rent a truck and move more.
Riding right.
Well it took trips to a mechanic and two different tire places, but the car is finally repaired. Fortunately it only took a $30 tire rotation and balance. I also bought tires for my new trailer rims at a third tire store. Used ones. I will try to install them on Saturday. The plumber/electrician came today, which was great. This afternoon I went by Cedar Direct to check out their inventory, but didn’t buy anything. After going back by the farm to make sure the doors were closed I drove up to my parents’ house for dinner and to stay the night. Tomorrow I’ll help my dad start moving their stuff to the new house.
