Luke – farm – Luke.

I again spent the first part of the morning looking after the Little Man. I took him for a walk in the chest carrier before it became too hot. In Columbia I met with the electrician to make a few corrections, then ran some errands. It rained in town but not at the farm. I wrapped things up pretty early and returned to the condo to take care of Luke a little more. He was in a good mood and we played a lot and did tummy time. This evening I need to do a lot of organizing around the condo in order to take some photographs so that we can begin the process of selling it.

Starting and ending the day with the Little Man.

My mother came to babysit Luke today and I stayed with him until she arrived. We went on a walk around the complex while Liz was at the grocery store. I arrived at the farm around 10:30. My dad was already there, and fortunately I arrived just in time to stop him from “moving some dirt around” with the tractor. We headed to Lowe’s for a few things, ate lunch, then tried to nap a little. I think he was more successful than me. Afterwards he caulked and I painted on more foundation sealer. I got a new brush which really helped, although it was still a rather miserable process. I hope to finish up tomorrow. We left around six.

Back at the condo Luke was pretty relaxed. Apparently that was quite the contrast to the rest of the day. We played a bit and he got a bath. Tomorrow will be another late to work day. I will still try to get a lot done though, provided that it doesn’t rain.

Painting from Hell.

This morning I stopped at Home Depot in Franklin on my way to the farm. There I picked up a new pressure washer. I set it up and it did a fantastic job cleaning the footings. I had some errands to do in town while the footings dried, which took a few hours. Back at the farm I started on the task I had been dreading – sealing the foundation. The sealer is some kind of nasty black goop. It goes on okay on the footings and smooth block, but the textured block is an absolute nightmare. I thought I had mixed it well, but I must not have, because it was the thickness of peanut butter by the end of the bucket. Tomorrow I will buy a mixing bit for my drill. It was another hot and sunny day. I need to get this finished by tomorrow because it’s supposed to rain Thursday.
